Meditation and Tarot: The Beginning

Image
Okay witches! Time for some meditation and Tarot! I am in love with using Tarot, it is a fun interactive, life altering, visual effect type of deal. Tarot is a great tool to help you understand your life's little nuances. You can do all the learning that you can with tarot and STILL learn more about it. How each card can connect to each other. How that card can help you make a decision towards your end goals, it gives you options! Tarot for Troubled Times There are a few activities that I have done with Tarot lately that has taken me to whole new levels. One is 'Tarot for Troubled Times" by Theresa Reed. This book is an amazing way to help you get in touch with your inner Shadow side. This is the side that gets ignored or you just suppress. Your Shadow side still needs honored. Acknowledgement is the first step into healing. As the words of RuPaul "How in the hell can you love somebody else, when you can't even love yourself. Can I get an Amen!" That qu

Harvey Milk Day

Image
Harvey Milk If you do not know who Harvey Milk is then this is where you find out! If you haven't already realized I am a part of the LGBTQIA family. I am a non-binary witch. I go by he/they pronouns. Today is Harvey Milk Day.  Harvey is an important part of LGBTQIA history. Just like the rioters at Stonewall they played an important part in obtaining equality for our community. They started it all by standing up to New York city police and their continuous raids on gay bars. Being gay in the 1960's was illegal. This was only 60 years ago people. Our rights are still being threatened and we are still dying for the fight for human rights. Fighting for basic HUMAN RIGHTS is in our blood. (Note: Tip your drag queen!!) The day was started by the Harvey Milk Foundation and what put into California law by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2009, through perseverance, and a movie titled " Milk ", it passed in the California Assembly and Senate, via petitions from

My Books of Shadows

Image
Okay Witches! I thought I would let you dive into a look in my Book of Shadows! Or in this case Books of Shadows. I have a few. Guess what? That is okay! BOOM! You can have more then one spiritual book for yourself. Like come on you will eventually run out of room, it's just going to happen. You can even designate a theme to each Book of Shadows you own. I have three for all of my Tarot work. Another two for all of my spells and experiences that I have had. And a new one for my dreams. (Especially after Theresa Reeds Twitter post about sleep. I had a few weird dreams and I should probably start writing them down!) You can even do one for just crystals, plants, earth magick, water magick, or whatever that you want! There are so many ways you can create your book of Shadows too. You can create it to be nothing my artsy, like drawing out the spells and recipes, or creating it to be so extravagant that you have a regular old tome, like from Charmed! Anyway you would like to create yo

How I like my Altar Space!

Image
Personal Altar First and foremost your altar space is something that you set up for yourself and no body else! There is no wrong way involved with setting up your altar. You can have flowers or crystals or nothing of the sort on it. It is all up to you. But for this blog post, I am going to discuss what I like to do to set up my altar for my practice! For my spiritual and magickal practice, I follow the Ancient Egyptian pantheon, like Sekhmet, Bastet, Anubis, Horus, Isis, and so on. I tend to tailor my practice towards the energies of those particular gods and goddesses. The first Goddess that has ever really called to me was Sekhmet out of this pantheon and, eventually, she became my Matron Goddess. This is the one that is at the head of all your practice. She is the one I like to talk and honor the most. When I set up my altar, I do it with the intention that I wish to convey into the practice. So if I am doing something that brings healing, I will collect items that sig

National Teen Self-Esteem Month

Image
If you didn't hear it, May is National Teen Self-Esteem month. This month was created to bring awareness to the struggles of adolescences. Being a former teen, I get it! The peer pressure, the hormonal changes, and just trying to figure out yourself. So what are some things that you can do to boost your teens self-esteem? First, don't expect them to be what you want them to be. That is the first mistake. They are still human beings and are unique. Try to expand that uniqueness by supporting them in anything they do. I can say this as a former teenager myself. I felt pressured to be something I never was just to fit in. Not only for my parents, because I didn't want to let them down, but to also be safer at school. So another thing is to teach them how to stand up for themselves and tell them that it is okay. Fight that school tooth and nail for your kid. Don't let them walk over your kid or you. I can strongly say that my parents taught me that and I am better for

Mothers' Day and the Divine Feminine

Image
You may have not known, but it was Mothers' Day yesterday! May 10th, 2020. And in light of that I did a little research into the history of the day. I have another business, massage therapy, and I do a blog there too, and for that blog site I wanted to do a Mothers' Day post. So I dived in for some research and I found out who was the mother of Mothers' day! And how it was inspired to become a day. But, since that is separate form this blog, I did more research into history. I found that we have always celebrated the Divine Feminine. Not just with a day and festivities, but even a week of honoring the Divine Feminine. Not all countries celebrate mothers day, but we do here in the USA. This is what I found out about the history of it here in the US.... Mother's day is celebrated every year on the second Sunday of May, established as a National Holiday on May 9th 1914 by Congress. The first "real"time it was celebrated was on May 10th, 1908 by Anna Jarvis.

A Quick Glimpse: Quarantine, Chill, and Tarot

Image
So, whatcha all doing? Screwing? LOL!!! I'm totally kidding, please don't tell me! But I have noticed that my life has become one giant TikTok series, because there isn't much else to do. I have been writing, reading, and TikTok-ing my life away in this quarantine. I must say I am one of the lucky few that still have a job, because it is considered "essential." So I will say I'm blessed by the gods for that, but I have also been thinking on where I want my life to go. Do I stay at my dead end job that offers no fulfillment what so ever? Or do I bite the bullet and just quit to try and bring in fulfillment into my life? I have noticed that I have been able to do more since I only have the one job. Pre-Quarantine, I was massaging and working in an office answering phones. At that point I had to time to just...LIVE! I am now able to repair the house, plant flowers, spend time outside and in nature. I even have time to Pokemon hunt! Got to catch them all you kno

Mayday! Mayday!

Image
Maypole Not to be confused with "red alert" from star trek! This is the first day of the month of May! Also known as May Day or Beltane! This is a fire festival that has been celebrated in Ancient Gaelic times. This is where everyone celebrated the union of the God and Goddess and in bringing new life back. It happened after the April showers. Hence the saying "April showers bring May flowers." Just kidding. I have no idea if that is when that came along. But I do know that this is a festival where you can dance around the Maypole! Clothing optional. *wink, wink* The maypole was a pagan phallic symbol of fertility and you would wrap colorful ribbon about the pole to symbolize the colors of spring and dance around it. When the Romans invaded the Isle it was still celebrated, but to Flora the Roman goddess of flowers. This festival today is celebrated by neo-pagans all over! It is a fun festival and I intend to celebrate! I want to celebrate, especially during
