Maypole
Not to be confused with "red alert" from star trek! This is the first day of the month of May! Also known as May Day or Beltane! This is a fire festival that has been celebrated in Ancient Gaelic times. This is where everyone celebrated the union of the God and Goddess and in bringing new life back. It happened after the April showers. Hence the saying "April showers bring May flowers." Just kidding. I have no idea if that is when that came along. But I do know that this is a festival where you can dance around the Maypole! Clothing optional. *wink, wink*

The maypole was a pagan phallic symbol of fertility and you would wrap colorful ribbon about the pole to symbolize the colors of spring and dance around it. When the Romans invaded the Isle it was still celebrated, but to Flora the Roman goddess of flowers. This festival today is celebrated by neo-pagans all over! It is a fun festival and I intend to celebrate!

I want to celebrate, especially during this time, because there needs to be some sort of fun to be had. I am blessed with a fire pit that I put together, from Costco, so I will be using that. But some do not have that option! So a candle will do! Light a candle and say a blessing for yourself and the world. This is now a time to get in touch with some of our passions we have put off. If you haven't already done it!

If you can't light a candle that is okay! Use some crystals! Use vibrant red's for fire in the middle and put beautiful colors around that fire to symbolize the colors of life! Use a cup and fill it with dirt and get a stick and put it in the middle and tie some ribbon around it and put it in the window! The ideas to celebrate are limitless. Check out some resources below!

That One Dream Ritual

  I mentioned I was doing a Dream Ritual right? If not, I did it. I did this for 7 days using the spell bottle I got from the Witches Box Subscription . I wanted to do this to talk to my Shadow Side and get to know him a little better. I set forth my intention every night before bed and asked to better communicate with my Shadow Side. So here is my journey! I JUST noticed this as I was reading through my dreams. I kept waking up and for the dates I kept writing the number 10 each night. Mind you, I did this ritual while it was a full moon in February! Not October! I was so confused, I crossed it out and wrote 2 instead of 10, but I had the feeling to look up the significance of the number. I found that it is an "Angel" number, but I am not Christian by any means, so I kept looking for the spiritual significance, and the sum of it is, that my Higher Self is telling me to pay attention to this. As I sit at my table staring at this computer screen, I begin to type. I begin to write. I have touched base with things in my trauma and PTSD. I have figured out that when someone pushes for love and light all the time, they are just full of Bull Shit. Total, and utter bull shit. They are just so fucked up they cannot even remotely see what trauma and their own selves look like.  Taking even a minute to look at yourself in the mirror takes courage and all that I see when I see them is pity, because they will never have the courage to see the ugly to see the good in themselves.
