A Quick Glimpse: Quarantine, Chill, and Tarot
So, whatcha all doing? Screwing? LOL!!! I'm totally kidding, please don't tell me! But I have noticed that my life has become one giant TikTok series, because there isn't much else to do. I have been writing, reading, and TikTok-ing my life away in this quarantine. I must say I am one of the lucky few that still have a job, because it is considered "essential." So I will say I'm blessed by the gods for that, but I have also been thinking on where I want my life to go.
Do I stay at my dead end job that offers no fulfillment what so ever? Or do I bite the bullet and just quit to try and bring in fulfillment into my life? I have noticed that I have been able to do more since I only have the one job. Pre-Quarantine, I was massaging and working in an office answering phones. At that point I had to time to just...LIVE! I am now able to repair the house, plant flowers, spend time outside and in nature. I even have time to Pokemon hunt! Got to catch them all you know!?
I have taken a step back and seen what I can have my life be. Fulfillment or not. This virus has offered so many people different ways on looking at their life, and the life they have around them. How can I make this better? When I have been home to see it. I have loved how much time I have had on healing myself. In America we are more concerned about making money and the "American Dream", but what is it really? How can it be a dream when you despise your job so much that you cry as you go into work. The two weeks that I took off from it has shown me what my potential can be.
I love Tarot. I love Massage Therapy. I love Reiki healing. I love Yoga. I love Crystal healing! And I love to write! I have depraved myself of all of these things for what? Making a dollar. Don't get me wrong paying the bills is wonderful, but, I have seen that I am lacking that fulfillment. That "good job" feeling. This is where Tarot has given me a little helpful healing. Now I have a plan of action to gain that fulfillment in life and still pay my bills!
The thing that Tarot has taught me is that, it may be a guide, but I can write my own destiny. Tarot has offered a means to understand and get to know myself a little better. I have disliked myself for awhile now, and have taken a good hard look at myself as to why that might be. The hardest part is to actually look at yourself. Good thing, I also have, an amazing therapist to help me figure out some things I am not sure on! Remember self-healing, aka Shadow Work, is sometimes not an easy task, but it is something wonderful and uplifting when done. Just cleanse afterwords!
I did a random spread that offered a starting point into that glimpse. It is a 6 card spread. The first 3 that are pulled are the feelings that you are feeling right now. The ones that are buried deep within, that you haven't let out. The other 3 cards that you pull, when you lay under those 3, are what you can do to heal those festering wounds you didn't know you had.
This spread can offer you insight into some trauma that you have had that you needed to let out. I know I did! Plus, some other ways you can use tarot, is drawing a card when you get home and seeing what you learned today. Or, if you're already at home, see what you could have learned anyway. The cards will tell you! Remember to let that ego go!
Oracle cards are nice too. I recently got a deck of oracle cards from Gathering Volumes (local independent bookstore, link below), called Everyday Witch Oracle by Deborah Blake. This has been great for my spiritual practice and Craft. Each card gives you an action, a divination, and a magickal quality to it, that can help you focus a little more. Because, I know I have ran out of ideas on what to do. That is usually when the boredom sets it. So this deck has at least alleviated that boredom, and helped me connect to the world around me. Helped my healing process.
Tarot can help you learn more about yourself, your needs, and your wants. I freaking LOVE IT! So what can you do to help yourself heal in quarantine? (HA! Think I just made another spread with that question alone! Maybe we will come back to that one later.) So go out there and be you! Everyone deserves to have fulfillment in their lives, and that, to me, is the "American Dream." Blessed be! Stay Healthy!
