Shielding....Yourself!

First and foremost whatever works for you, use it! You can shield yourself from many different things. Physical harm, negativity, and psychic attacks. It all depends on what you need!

This is the last installment of "Shielding," hope you enjoy!

The way I like to shield myself is simple. A bubble. Why? Because it is, to me, selective permeable! Kind of like a cell membrane. I can keep out the negative and bring in the positive. For the first thing that I do is taking a minute to set my self on fire! Just kidding! I'm actually using sage. I like to cleanse my aura with sage and then proceed to meditate. 

When I ground myself I can concentrate enough to develop that shield bubble. I'm also a nerd so I'm of course visualizing Star Trek as I do this. Red alert! HAHA But any who... I will take this time to do some Pranayama, and for a Yogi like me, this is when I do conscious breathing. 

Conscious breathing is something that Yogi's have practiced for years. This is where you are going to take a deep breathe in, expanding your lungs making sure that deep breathe starts in your stomach all the way up to your sternum, rib cage expanded with air, hold for a breathe, and then exhale. Make sure you are just using your nose! No exhale through the mouth. I would do this for however many times it takes to feel relaxed and ready to go. 

The next step is to close your eyes slowly, lucid, and breath normal. At this point you should be so relaxed you feel like your asleep, but not! Taking the time to breathe right will allow you get in touch with your body not only quieting your mind. Now that your anxiety is down you can start the grounding meditation. 


When grounding imagine you have roots coming out of you going into the Earth. While the roots are taking to the Earth imagine those roots are secure in the Earth and start to draw in that Earth energy into your body along your roots. When you do this you are taking that energy right on through all of your Chakra's and up, up, up, and away into the crown chakra. You are making sure all that Earth energy when it hits the chakra's are being filled with that life giving energy. Taking your time to fill them up all the way to the Crown where you will then go beyond and into the stars. Taking note to remaining attached to the earth itself. Those roots are what are keeping you from taking off into the stars. Once you feel all of the Chakra's connected then you are grounded! Congratulations!

NOW comes a hard part. After you have all of that done, you are going to make sure that energy is flowing through you as you take off into imagining the Bubble. You are going to draw, with your find, a bubble from below you to the top. As this happens the bubble is forming you are going to imagine all the negative coming at you, but your bubble is there. When that negative badness is upon you it will be deflected back by the bubble that you just conjured with your mind! I then like to fill this bad bubble with a beautiful white light that will encompass me with positivity and compassion. Just so I can have a good positive attitude most of the time. This is what I do for negativity! 

For some psychic attacks, I like to have a stronger one. Here I tend to lean towards a brick wall. I mean what isn't stronger then a big brick wall where nothing can get through. This I imagine is a circular wall that is around my bubble. I imagine this brick wall being beat up by fists and nothing is giving it a dent. This is a great way to make sure that no one is attacking you. This is a defense shield.

For a Offensive shield against attack, is a mirror. Why a mirror? Because that mirror is going to send that attack right back at the caster. This is a nice one too if I'm feeling frisky. Especially, if there have been a lot of psychic attacks. It works great against those life suckers too, you know, the energy vampires of the world. Over the years I've needed some strong ones for those! Phew! Used mirror AND brick! 

I hope this has helped you a little in developing what works for you when you shield on your own. There are many other ways to shield besides what I have said above. Enchantments being one! Think we should talk about those later too! But this is a basis, and remember to cater to you. Make sure you do what works for you because your spiritual practice is very personal.

You have a quirky communication style that made me smile and laugh throughout along with taking in the very clear instruction on creating the protective bubble. I particularly enjoyed reading what you had to say about the breath and its use in conscious breathing, it's a technique I use when I want to enter a light trance/liminal space. This kind of protective bubble is something that I have used on and off for years when I need to enter a negative space and want to minimise its affects on me.
